US-based snack brand Our Home, the maker of Popchips brand, has acquired local cheese snack business Sonoma Creamery.
“The move significantly scales Our Home's existing platform and footprint across the country,” the New Jersey-headquartered company said in a statement.
Our Home added the move increases its “offering [of] innovative and health-conscious products to its better-for-you-driven customers”.
"This acquisition expands Our Home into the cheese snack category, reinforcing our position as a leading independent better-for-you snacking platform," Our Home CEO Aaron Greenwald added.
"Sonoma has a 90-plus year history in the cheese business and its quality of products and manufacturing process delivers the best tasting and most premium cheese snack on the market."
With the deal, Our Home has acquired the snack maker’s production facility and warehouse in Sonoma, California.
Our Home now has eight manufacturing facilities across the US.
Sonoma Creamery, founded in 1931, has a baked cheese snack line that includes cheese crisps in various flavours.
In January, US-based Utz Brands sold two brands and a pair of factories to Our Home.
The business paid Utz $182.5m for the Good Health and RW Garcia brands, plus factories in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
The deal also saw Our Home take on the lease for a manufacturing facility in Las Vegas.
Last month, Utz sold another two of its manufacturing plants to the snack producer.
The deal added Utz’s facilities in Berlin in Pennsylvania, and in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, to Our Home’s portfolio alongside “certain related assets”.
