Danone has confirmed the Greek yoghurts it has developed in tandem with Starbucks in the US will launch into the country's grocery retail channel next month.

The two companies announced two years ago they would team up to manufacture and market a range of products.

A line of smoothies, parfaits and yoghurts have been developed, all sold under the Evolution Fresh brand.

The Greek yoghurt cups will be launched next month at grocery retailers including Albertsons, Safeway and Kroger, followed by a national launch in July.

Demand for Greek yoghurt is still increasing but growth has slowed after the recent boom in sales. Danone has a range of Greek yoghurt products on sale in the US, including Oikos Triple Zero, a protein-heavy line focused at men.

Officials at Danone's US arm had not returned a request for comment on why the company has decided to launch these yoghurts in a slowing market and how they differ from the rest of the portfolio.

The parfaits will be available at Starbucks stores nationwide at the beginning of May. The initial introduction will be in Starbucks' company-operated stores.

The smoothies are already available in the Pacific Northwest in Starbucks coffee shops, as well as at some Starbucks outlets located inside Target, Albertsons, Safeway and Kroger grocery stores.
