WhiteWave Foods-owned Alpro has announced the launch of a “high protein” alternative to yoghurt in the UK.
Go On is a single-serve, soya alternative to yoghurt that claims to be high in plant protein and features a layer of real fruit.
The range features three fruit products: passion fruit, blackcurrant and mango.
Each pot has 5.2g of soya protein, less than 84kcal and less than 0.5g of saturated fat. Alpro said the launch offered a “healthy plant-based option within the broader yoghurts category”.
“Last year we established a strong position for our big pot plain range with a high-profile marketing campaign and two new additions designed to inspire and extend consumer usage. This has paid off with sales +61% in value. We will continue to build on this success with innovative quick to market ground-breaking products like Go On,” said Vicky Upton, marketing controller for Alpro in the UK and Ireland.
“We know there is consumer demand for more plant-based options, particularly convenient products that fit in with their hectic lifestyles and keep them going for longer.”
