US restaurant chain Wendy’s is offering a $50,000 reward for specific information in the case of a severed finger found in a bowl of its chilli last month, according to California broadcaster KRON 4.

The company said it would offer the reward to the first person who could provide “verifiable information” leading to the origin of the finger found in a bowl of chilli on March 22 at a Wendy’s in San Jose.

“It’s very important to our company to find out the truth in this incident,” said Tom Mueller, Wendy’s president and chief operating officer.  “We believe someone knows exactly what happened, and hopefully the reward will encourage this person to come forward.”
