TurboChef Technologies, Inc. today began implementing its Internet strategy aimed at bringing the Internet into the kitchen through its prototype web-enabled, rapid-cook oven. In order to facilitate this initiative, the company has appointed Marc Jacobson to develop its new Internet strategy. Simultaneously, the office of the Chief Financial Officer will be relocated from the Company’s Dallas office to its New York headquarters. As such, Dennis Jameson, TurboChef’s current CFO will step down from this position and Mr. Jacobson will assume the title of Interim CFO.
“We believe our cooking technology can dramatically improve the consumer’s quality of life, and when coupled with a wireless web pad, may well emerge as the leading gateway to the web-enabled kitchen and home,” said Jeffrey B. Bogatin, Chairman of the Board. “The prototype wireless interface will allow consumers to operate the rapid-cook oven and will provide a complete Internet experience, including ordering groceries, downloading recipes, completing e- commerce transactions, surfing, and reading e-mail. “Marc’s background and skills make him ideally suited to lead our efforts to leverage our technology with Internet technology. His years of Internet experience in senior management at Prodigy Communications Corp., and other content websites, and his background in law and business development will serve our shareholders well,” concluded Mr. Bogatin.
