Salem-based International Automated Systems’ (IAS) OrderXCEL incorporates IAS’ patented automated biometric fingerprint technology. It allows fastfood customers to enter an order on a touch-pad screen and pay with cash, check, credit or debit card – all without the need for a counterperson.
The outlet is owned by Harman’s Management Corp, the single largest franchise owner of Yum! Brands. The company controls about 375 KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and A&W franchises, and explained that the Californian KFC in the OrderXCEL trial is one of its highest grossing outlets.
