PepsiCo’s is set to expand its Frito-Lay snack product stable with a  “good array” of new items in the first quarter of 2002.

The food and drink giant said it intends to launch a variety of snack products that are a “little further out” from its core Frito-Lay brands. The company expressed optimism that its impending acquisition of Quaker Oats would allow it to gain a hold in the morning and sweet snack markets. The Quaker deal is set to close in mid to late June.
