Californian specialty coffee roaster and marketer Peet’s Coffee & Tea, has unveiled the planned locations of Peet’s new retail stores for 2002.

The five locations, now under lease, are expected to open in late 2002, pending the timely turnover by the developers to Peet’s.

Four of the new locations are in Northern California and include: Dublin, Santa Clara, Bay Meadows in San Mateo and Santana Row in San Jose. The fifth new store will be located in Southern California in Santa Clarita.

“We are excited about the locations of the leased sites for 2002,” said Chris Mottern, president and CEO of Peet’s Coffee & Tea: “These sites are located in areas where we were interested in opening Peet’s stores for several years.”

Two of the new sites are located within major development projects. The Santana Row and Bay Meadows projects are urban neighborhood developments with residences, retail, restaurants and other multi-use facilities. The Santa Clarita site will be the 12th Southern California location for Peet’s.
