US food giant Kraft Foods is reported to be considering the sale of its Altoids breath mints and Life Savers confectionery brands.
The sale of the two businesses could raise more than US$1bn, reported Dow Jones Business News. Analysts have speculated that potential buyers could include Hershey Foods, Cadbury Schweppes and Wm Wrigley Jr.
The possible sale would form part of plans by Kraft chief executive Roger Deromedi to focus the company on fewer product areas and also to focus on brands with global scale.
