New Tostitos Scoops! Holds an Extra Heaping Teaspoon of Dip With Unique Bite-Sized, Bowl-Shaped Design
Frito-Lay, Inc., the world’s largest convenient fun food company, announced the national launch of new Tostitos Scoops! Tortilla Chips, which can hold an extra heaping teaspoon of dip or salsa with its unique bite-sized, bowl-shaped design. This marks the most significant innovation in the 20-year history of the Tostitos brand.
”Tostitos Scoops! is the ultimate dip lover’s chip,” said Andrea Thomas, Frito-Lay Marketing Director. “The unique shape empowers chip-and-dip lovers to scoop up more dip with less drip. It’s truly one of this year’s biggest innovations in snacks.”
Company research shows that nearly 70 percent of consumers eat tortilla chips with a dip or salsa. With new Tostitos Scoops!, consumers get more dip per chip, said Thomas.
Frito-Lay designed a proprietary ”form and fry” technique to create Tostitos Scoops!. The technique first shapes the masa into a bowl-shaped design and then quickly fries the Tostitos Scoops! for a light and crispy, great tasting snack — all in one bite. The chips can be enjoyed with dip, salsa or can be filled with a favorite topping for fast and easy hors d’oeuvres.
Tostitos Scoops! are sold in 12-ounce bags for $3.29. These new tortilla chips are now available in most West Coast supermarkets, mass merchandisers and convenience stores. National distribution will be complete in July.
