Delivered pizza company Domino’s Pizza has reported rises in sales and net income, driven up by strong global sales growth, for the first quarter ended 27 March 2005.
Total revenue was $370m. compared with $319m in the same period a year ago. Net income was $25m, compared with the year earlier figure of $18.4m
“Our same store sales performance in the first quarter was truly special,” said chairman and CEO David A. Brandon. “Our track record as a brand and company is one of steady, controlled growth, as evidenced by the fact we have not had a negative annual same store sales performance in the past eleven years. We will remember the first quarter of 2005 as a quarter when a number of key factors came together to produce exceptional results.”
“These strong quarterly results contribute to our growing cash flow and put us in a strong position to grow our business, continue our debt reduction, opportunistically repurchase stock from our original investors, and pay a dividend to our shareholders that is among the highest yields in our industry,” he said.
