Corn Products International, Inc. (NYSE: CPO) today announced that its board of directors has elected a new corporate vice president, Jeffrey B. Hebble, 44, who also is executive vice president Asia/Africa Division.
Hebble will succeed Frank J. Kocun, vice president and president Asia/Africa Division, who retires February 1, 2001. Hebble will then be responsible for directing and leading the business in the countries encompassing Asia and Africa.
“(Frank) Kocun has a long career of distinguished service for our Company,” Sam Scott, president and chief operating officer said. “And, we thank him for a job well done.”
Scott added, “(Jeff) Hebble has also played an important role in the business development of our Asia/Africa division for several years. He has served in the Pacific Rim, has first-hand knowledge of the markets and cultures there and has been instrumental in the expansion of our business interests in Malaysia, Thailand and Korea. He has also helped strengthen the Company’s international position with regard to major global customers and export activities.”
Hebble joined CPC International Inc., the predecessor of Corn Products International, Inc., in 1986 as grain merchandiser in its Chicago Board of Trade office. He held various positions with increasing responsibilities in CPC’s U.S. co-products group from 1987 to 1993, when he became the business manager, starch and co-product, for that unit. In 1994, he accepted the post of managing director of the company’s subsidiary, Stamford Foods — Malaysia, and relocated there.
In 1998, Hebble was named vice president, Asia/Africa for Corn Products International, Inc. on his return to the United States. In February 2000, he rose to the position of executive vice president, Asia/Africa.

Kocun has served in his current role since 1991 for the former company, CPC International Inc., and now Corn Products International, Inc. He has been with CPC since 1968 and has held various executive positions within the Corn Products Division and in Penick Corporation, a CPC subsidiary. He holds a bachelor’s degree in natural science and a master’s degree of business administration from Seton Hall University. He also completed a master’s of science and a doctorate in microbiology at Rutgers University.
