Chiquita Brands International today [Tuesday] announced that Jill Albrinck has been named vice president, strategy and new business development.

In this new position, Albrinck will be responsible for leading corporate strategy, new business development and key strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Chiquita, Albrinck spent ten years with the management consulting firm Booz, Allen & Hamilton as a vice president and partner of the firm. In recent months, she consulted to Chiquita on its review of the company’s operations and strategy. Before joining Booz Allen, Albrinck worked at General Electric, where she held various positions of increasing responsibility in supply chain and operations.

“This is a new role for Chiquita and demonstrates our increased focus on driving growth and maximizing shareholder value,” said Cyrus Freidheim, chairman and chief executive officer. “Jill brings to the position a strong track record of developing and implementing growth strategies that have improved shareholder value for companies across a wide range of industries. I have tremendous respect for Jill’s ability to effectively lead large-scale business transformations and successfully enter new lines of business through acquisitions or improved corporate venturing capabilities.”
