Celebrate Memorial Day and log on to www.homefoodsafety.org to enter the summer food safety contest for a chance to win great prizes and learn how to help prevent foodborne illness.
The American Dietetic Association (ADA) and the ConAgra Foundation encourage consumers to follow proper food safety practices this summer. According to experts, foodborne illness peaks during the summer months because harmful bacteria quickly multiply in hot, humid weather.
The ADA/ConAgra summer contest will launch May 26 and run through July 4. To enter, contestants must answer a 10-question food safety quiz. Those who answer all 10 questions correctly will qualify to be entered in the drawing for the grand prize. Participants who answer at least eight out of 10 questions correctly will qualify to be entered in the drawings for second place, third place and runner-up prizes. Prizes include:
— Grand Prize – Weber® Summit(TM) 450 Series Natural Gas Barbecue Grill – Approximate Retail Value: $2,000
— Second Place – Williams-Sonoma® Portable Suitcase Grill – Approximate Retail Value: $350
— Third Place – The Graham Kerr Stainless Steel Barbecue Tool Set, along with an autographed cookbook, “The Gathering Place” – Approximate Retail Value: $27.95 (Cookbook) and $19.99 (Kit)
