Agribuys, a global provider of comprehensive web-based services developed specifically for the food industry, announced today the opening of its Canadian subsidiary, Agribuys Canada Inc., in Toronto. The office will serve as the contact point for businesses throughout Canada. Robert Atkin will act as managing director of Agribuys Canada Inc. and will be responsible for implementing and integrating Agribuys’ systems for major retailers, foodservice operators and suppliers in Canada.
“The launch of our Toronto office is part of Agribuys’ strategy to establish local offices in key markets around the world. Prior to joining Agribuys, Atkin served as director of worldwide business development for Tyson Foods, Inc. He was responsible for all aspects of the development process, including feasibility studies, partner selection, deal management, incentives, capital structures, all tax and legal considerations, and IPR contracts. Before his term at Tyson, Atkin served as managing director and CFO, Asia/Pacific, for Ralston Purina Company in Missouri, USA. Atkin was raised in Montreal and has lived in Toronto, London, the USA, and Asia.
