Archer Daniels Midland Company has announced the following management changes within the ADM Cocoa Division:
Robert Hobson was named managing director, ADM Cocoa International. He will be responsible for ADM’s cocoa business in Europe, Asia and Africa. He will be succeeding Wim Groenenboom, who has resigned to pursue personal interests.
Hobson joined ADM in 1973 when the company acquired the British Arkady operations in the UK. Since joining ADM, he has held various positions including chief financial officer of ADM International Ltd. and most recently as manager of mergers and acquisitions. Hobson became qualified as a chartered accountant in England in 1972. He will relocate to Koog, Holland (Netherlands).
Dennis J. Whalen was named vice president and general manager, ADM Cocoa Americas. Whalen will assume responsibility for ADM’s cocoa business in South and Central America in addition to his current responsibilities of North America. Whalen joined the company in 1984 and held various merchandising and management positions including vice president, ADM BioProducts Division. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Millikin University. He will continue to be based at ADM Cocoa’s Milwaukee, Wisconsin facility.
