Flowers Foods veteran Langdon Strong Flowers has died aged 85, the US bakery group has announced.

Mr Flowers started his career with the namesake company in 1947, helping to grow the business into a US$2bn company.
He retired in 1985 but continued to serve as a company director until 2004, when he was named honorary director.
Flowers, who passed away yesterday (20 June), is survived by his five children.
