TreeHouse Foods, the US private-label processor, has announced that president and COO David Vermylen is to step down from the role.
The company, which reported its annual and fourth-quarter results today (10 February), said Vermylen, who also held the position of president, would stand down on 1 July.
Vermylen will keep a seat on TreeHouse’s board and work as a consultant focusing on the company’s “strategic direction”.
CEO Sam Reed, who will take on Vermylen’s role of president, said: “David will remain an integral partner to me, our management team and the Board. He will oversee key strategic initiatives as we continue to grow our product portfolio and capitalise on attractive acquisition opportunities.”
From July, CFO Dennis Riordan, Harry Walsh, president of TreeHouse division Bay Valley Foods and Thomas O’Neill, the group’s chief administrative officer, will also take on the title of executive vice president and assume additional responsibilities to support Reed.
Reed added: “The depth and breadth of our management structure, enhanced by the creation of three executive vice president positions, will ensure our ability to effectively execute strategy and to continue to deliver shareholder value.”
