Californian retailer Stater Bros. has named accountancy veteran Dave Harris as its vice president of finance.

Harris, who has worked for Ernst & Young, joins the grocer from accountants Soren McAdam Christenson.
Stater Bros. chairman and CEO Jack Brown said: “His background in accounting will be valuable to the future growth of the company during these rough economic times.”
In May, Stater Bros. posted a fall in profits as same-store sales growth slowed during the second quarter of its fiscal year.
