Schwan Food Company, the US frozen foods firm, has announced that president and chief executive officer Lenny Pippin is to leave the company with immediate effect.
Pippin joined Schwan in November 1999 and became one of the few outsiders to run the company in its 50-year history. The company has not given a reason for Pippin’s departure. Greg Flack will become the interim chief executive of the multi-billion dollar privately-held company.
Flack, currently president of global consumer brands at the company, joined Schwan in 1987 as national foodservice marketing manager and rose through the ranks.
The Minnesota-based company is known for its gold delivery trucks carrying the image of a swan and its popular Red Baron, Tony’s and Freschetta brand pizzas.
