US anti-trust authorities have given the green light to the sale of US cereal business Post to Ralcorp Holdings.

The Federal Trade Commission has approved the transaction, which was agreed in November, when Ralcorp struck a deal with Kraft Foods.
Private-label firm Ralcorp has also received clearance from Canada’s Competition Bureau for the US$2.6bn deal, which is expected to be completed by the middle of the year.
