PepsiCo’s Quaker Oats unit has had to recall some Aunt Jemima pancake and waffle mix products due to potential salmonella contamination.
The products, sold in two-pound and five-pound boxes of its original, original complete and buttermilk complete mixes are affected by the recall.
The boxes have best before dates of 8 February to 16 February 2009.
The company said: “No illnesses have been reported in connection with this issue to date. There is very low risk of illness when preparation directions on box are followed and product is not consumed raw or undercooked.”
Quaker is said to be recovering the small number of affected boxes, with many not yet reaching shop shelves.
