US meat firm Kayem Foods has bought a slew of brands – including Deutschmacher frankfurters – from larger rival Tyson Foods.
The New England-based hot dog and deli meat producer said the agreement gives it ownership of the trademarks and marketing rights for six brands, which also include Jordan’s, Kirschner and Willams of Vermont.
The financial details of the transaction, which also covers the Essem and Tasty Bite lines, were not disclosed.
“Kayem Foods is a worthy steward for these important brands and the traditions they have created,” says Ray Monkiewicz, Kayem president and CEO.
The Kayem portfolio includes over 120 varieties of hot dogs and 320 varieties of deli meats, sausage and dinner hams under its namesake brand and labels including Kayem, al fresco, Schonland’s, McKenzie and Triple M.
