The board at J. M. Smucker has approved an increase in its share dividend.


The company, the leading producer of fruit spreads and peanut butter in the US, will put up its quarterly dividend from US$0.28 to $0.30 per share.


The dividend will be payable on 1 June to shareholders of record on 15 May, J. M. Smucker said yesterday (17 April).


The company, based in Ohio, owns a stable of brands including Smucker’s and Pillsbury.
