US baker Hostess Brands LLC is reintroducing Chocodile Twinkies, with a national roll-out planned to start this week.
The company has been gradually relaunching products after the former Hostess Brands went into administration last year. While the majority of Hostess’s bread business was sold off, private-equity groups Metropoulos & Co. and Apollo Global Management bought the snack cake business of the old Hostess Brands and formed Hostess Brands LLC.
The company announced yesterday (8 July) Chocodile Twinkies will be available throughout the US for the first time. Previously Chocodile Twinkies were only produced and distributed in the west coast.
“In the past Chocodiles seemed to be shrouded as much in mystery as in chocolate, inspiring an obsession among fans that was truly the stuff of legends,” said William Toler, president and CEO of Hostess Brands, LLC. “Now, fanatics will once again be able to satisfy their cravings and a new generation will be able to experience the magic for the first time.”
