Confectionery giant Hershey has reportedly announced the closure of another US plant.

Hershey, the largest candy maker in the US, will close a plant in Oakdale, California with the loss of 575 jobs.

According to a report from the Associated Press, the plant, which is operating at less than 40% capacity, will close next year.

The closure comes as part of a major restructuring plan at Hershey. The company is shedding 1,500 jobs and cutting back the number of production lines by a third.

This month, Hershey has announced the closures of sites in Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
