General Mills has acquired US snacks manufacturer Food Should Taste Good for an undisclosed sum.

Food Should Taste Good, which was founded in 2006, makes tortilla and kettle chips on sale in retailers across the US.

General Mills said the business would become part of its natural and organic arm Small Planet Foods.

“This acquisition further positions us for continued growth with a great new brand in an entirely new category in our natural and organic business,” Michele Meyer, president of Small Planet Foods, said yesterday (29 February). “Food Should Taste Good is a strong brand with high-quality products and tremendous potential.”

Founder Pete Lescoe will remain with the business as creative director, General Mills said.
