Martha Stewart is set to launch a line of fresh, refrigerated and frozen prepared foods in partnership with Costco Wholesale Corporation.


The warehouse club chain and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia are in the testing and tasting phase of the new line, which will favour prepared foods and be labelled ‘Kirkland Signature by Martha Stewart’.


The fresh, refrigerated and frozen foods will hit the shelves in 2008, addressing what Omnimedia CEO Susan Lyne called an “untapped opportunity”.


Food brings more visitors to the company’s web site than any other topic in the multimedia empire, and the company is counting on Stewart’s familiarity and name recognition among Costco members in over 500 locations to bolster any product launch.
