Campbell Soup Co. has expanded its range of Prego pasta sauces in the US with a new line.
The US food group has launched three sauces under the Alfredo sub-brand, a move it said was “a natural next step” for Prego.
“We know shoppers have a choice in the pasta sauce aisle, and we’re confident that our Alfredo sauces will inspire them to discover something new with the promise of great taste, rich flavors and distinctive ingredients,” Dale Clemiss, vice president of simple meals at Campbell, said.
The Alfredo sauces, which have an RSP of US$2.59, include a “three cheese” variety that contains white cheddar, parmesan and romano cheeses. The products are available at Wal-Mart Stores and Target Corp. and are expected to get “national distribution” by October, Campbell added.
