UK seafood processor Young’s Seafood has extended its frozen fish line with the launch of its Easy Cook range.
The Easy Cook range includes ready pre-cut pieces of fish fillet, available in three lines: White Fish Fillet Chunks, Pink Salmon Fillet Chunks and Smoked Fish Fillet Chunks. The skinless and boneless fish is ready to cook from frozen, and each 250g pack serves two people, the company said.
Young’s said consumers could buy the single species chunks of frozen fish and then mix and match them into their recipes, which, the company claimed, was a first for the category.
Young’s marketing director Natasha Gladman said: “The launch of our ‘Easy Cook’ range will help encourage more people to cook their own fish meals at home. Our research shows that consumers want a wider variety of ways to enjoy responsibly sourced fish.”
Easy Cook was launched nationwide in Tesco and Asda last month and is set to be available in Sainsbury’s stores later this month, priced at GBP2.99 (US$4.60) each, or at GBP5.00 for two.
