Good news for shoppers who yearn for the convenience of the internet but also want the reassurance of one of Britain’s most admired grocery brands. Waitrose*, the food shops of the John Lewis Partnership, today launched an internet home shopping service.
WAITROSEdeliver offers everything you’d expect to find at your local Waitrose – a wide choice of fresh, quality products, special offers and promotions, as well as excellent customer service.
Donna Chappelle, Waitrose marketing manager -developments says: “WAITROSEdeliver gives people the chance to do all their grocery shopping from their home. This new service is convenient, easy and totally reliable, saving shoppers time.”
After an intensive four-month trial period to ensure the usability and reliability of the service, WAITROSEdeliver is now available at the four pilot branches – Abingdon, Buckhurst Hill, Petersfield and Stevenage. We aim to roll it out shortly to many other branches.
“Customers simply need to visit www.waitrose.com, click on the WAITROSEdeliver link, register, and go shopping.

“Now you can shop at Waitrose 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can create lists of regular purchases to make shopping easier and quicker. You can even call up recipes and menu ideas as well as information on new products and special offers,” Miss Chappelle concludes.
There is a minimum order value of £50. For customers who wish to have their shopping delivered there is a charge of £5. A charge of £3 is made to customers collecting their internet order from the local Waitrose. Store-cupboard, chilled and frozen foods are packaged separately in labelled bags, making it easier to unpack.
*In a recent Consumers Association survey of leading supermarkets, Waitrose emerged top in two out of three categories – in quality and range of merchandise; it was second only to Asda in prices.
