United Biscuits is increasing its investment behind the recently relaunched BN brand in the UK.

A spokesperson for the company told just-food BN had originally been available in the UK and France. However, the brand has been discontinued in the UK for the last decade.

In a staggered relaunch, the group first reintroduced BN biscuits in Tesco last year and has since initiated a wider UK roll-out.

As part of its drive to expand BN sales, the brand is being brought under UB’s sweet biscuit “masterbrand”, McVitie’s. The company is supporting the move with a GBP1.3m (US$2.2m) marketing spend.

“We decided to relaunch BN with this latest marketing campaign following the success of the range with UK consumers and as part of our strategy that puts sweet biscuits under the McVitie’s masterbrand,” the spokesperson said.
