UK retail giant Tesco is to extend its discount range in the New Year.
The company said today (22 December) that its discount range will expand by 200 products to include groceries and items in the impulse category.
“Almost one in three shoppers are taking a product from the range home each week and the range is living up to its aim of delivering further value to customers so they have no need to shop elsewhere and can continue to feel the benefit of shopping with us,” a spokesperson for Tesco told just-food.
The extenstions to the discount range, which include water, smoothies and crisps, will hit shelves in January.
Earlier this month Tesco cut the price of Christmas food, drink, gifts and toys by up to 50% in a bid to woo “wait and see” customers over the festive period.
