UK supermarket giant Tesco is offering to pay £500 (US$804.0) for a ten-year-old can of its budget baked beans.

Tesco wants to display the can in its headquarters to mark ten years of its budget Value brand, but did not keep any of the millions of cans it produced, reported ananova.com.

“There’s a good chance that someone, somewhere will still have a can stashed away in a loft or a basement,” John Gildersleeve, Tesco’s Commercial Director, was quoted by Ananova as saying.

The cut-price brand of beans was launched in 1993 with 40 other Value food products and was originally sold for 17p.
