UK sugar and sweeteners company Tate & Lyle is revamping its Lyle’s Squeezy Syrup range with new flavours.

“The original line-up – strawberry, toffee and chocolate flavours – has been re-vamped with new improved recipes to sit alongside the classic Golden Syrup variant,” the company said. “This will be strengthened further with the addition of three new flavours – banoffee, raspberry and blackcurrant.” The strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant flavours made with real fruit juice; and all are suitable for vegetarians.

“The new range is a major step forward for the category,” said senior brand manager Alison Ashman. “We knew we had to get the flavours and packaging right in order to drive category growth, so our depth of investment and research has been extensive.  We are confident that the new line-up will revitalise consumer appeal and excitement.”

“The Lyle’s brands are already outperforming the static toppings market, growing 5% year on year,” she said. “We knew that by injecting innovation and investment we could drive category growth to a new level.  By rejuvenating the sector with this new range, from a brand name that is well-trusted and recognised by 86% of consumers, we expect to strengthen our leading position even further.”
