UK firm Sweet Mandarin is planning to expand sales of its free-from Chinese sauces in the UK and overseas.
Speaking to just-food today (16 April), Sweet Mandarin co-owner Lisa Tse said the company had developed a line of free-from Chinese sauces in three varieties.
“[The] sauces – sweet chilli, barbecue, sweet and sour – will all be gluten free, dairy free, kosher accredited and vegan/vegetarian approved,” she said.
“They are going to be distributed to Sainsbury’s, Tescos, Ocado, Booths, Wing Yip, Fine Food Delis, foodservice and abroad – Russia, Israel, USA, Canada, Australia and even China,” Tse explained.
In order to meet this demand, Sweet Mandarin is opening a new factory located in Manchester, Tse confirmed.
The facility will have the capacity to produce up to 60,000 bottles of Sweet Mandarin branded sauces per week.
