UK: Sainsbury’s to add checkout jobs, head office review underway
UK supermarket chain J Sainsbury has said it is to add the equivalent of 10,000 part-time jobs in a bid to reduce peak-time queues at checkouts in its stores. The news of added jobs was countered, however, by a report in the Sunday Times that the chain was considering cutting 650 jobs at its Holborn headquarters.
