R&R Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling its Chokablok ice cream multi-packs from customers who purchased the product in Tesco and One Stop stores in the UK.
The ice cream maker said it is taking the “precautionary measure” of recalling three variants as a result of a production fault, which has meant the products might contain pieces of broken lolly stick.
The products being recalled are: Chokablok The Chocolate Extremist, 240ml (3 x 80ml), Chokablok Peanut Butter Nutter, 240ml (3 x 80ml), and Chokablok Billionaires Dynamite, 240ml (3 x 80ml). All products with ‘best before’ end dates up to and including October 2012 are subject to the recall.
“The affected products have been recalled from customers. All stores in receipt of these products have been told about the recall and point-of-sale notices will be displayed in stores explaining why the products have been recalled. If you have bought any of the above products, do not eat them. To get a full refund, return the affected product to the store. No receipt is required,” the Food Standards Agency said in a safety notice.
No other R&R Ice Cream or Chokablok products are known to be affected.
