Premier Foods plc has launched a range of Indian side dish accompaniments under its Sharwoods brand in the UK.

The four products – Bombay Potatoes, Saag Aloo, Tarka Dahl and Vegetable Curry – are available in 300g microwave pouches, which the company says can be heated in two minutes.

The lines have been launched as a supplement to a larger meal or as a light meal for one person.

Paul Bright, brand controller for Sharwood’s, said: “Sharwood’s side dish accompaniments will enable consumers to recreate the complete Indian restaurant experience at home in a convenient yet authentic format. Consumers are increasingly looking for new flavours and dining experiences but don’t often have the time to prepare their meals from scratch. Sharwood’s side dishes meet all these needs and will generate incremental sales for retailers.”

The Sharwoods side dishes range will be supported by an advert as part of a wider TV campaign, which will air in April, as well as multi-buy promotions and sampling activity.
