Discounter Lidl is trialling a budget range of products across its UK stores under the name Simply.

A spokesperson for Lidl confirmed the trial to just-food today (4 March). The range covers a selection of products at an entry level price point, the retailer said.

The line currently comprises around nine items with more planned in the future, the spokesperson said. Products include beef mince with an RRP of GBP2.49 for 800g, mixed fruit jam with an RRP of GBP0.29 and 1kg frozen chicken breast at RRP3.99.
