UK confectioner Kinnerton has entered into a licensing deal with Unilever that will see ice cream brands including Magnum and Cornetto launched into confectionery.

Kinnerton will manufacture Magnum, Cornetto and Mini Milk branded chocolates, the companies announced.

Julie McCleave, Unilever UK head of licensing, said bringing Unilever’s brands into the chocolate count line was expected to be a “winning combination”. Rachel Wyatt, Kinnerton MD, added the launch would drive category sales and generate “consumer excitement”.

The new products will be available this month and the launch will be supported by a marketing campaign, including outdoor marketing.

Kinnerton is now owned by German food group Zertus. It moved into Zertus’s ownership after the German firm acquired Zetar last year.
