Inter Link Foods chief executive Paul Griffiths announced his resignation today (2 October).

Griffiths’ resignation comes hot on the heels of news that Inter Link is in talks with private equity groups regarding the sale of the company.

Announcing the news, Inter Link said Griffiths is leaving to pursue private and charitable interests, including his involvement in the restoration of Gorton Monastery in Manchester.

Alwin Thompson, executive chairman of the company, commented: “Paul has made a significant contribution to the development of the group over the last three years, securing our position as number two in the UK cake market.”

Chris Thompson, currently Inter Link finance director, has been appointed interim chief executive.
