UK prepared foods manufacturer Geest has announced that 30 of its management-level staff face redundancy.
The cuts come at the Geest Pasta Company, and affect workforces at Barton and Scunthorpe. General manager Bryan Linn told the Grimsby Telegraph that the company was having to undertake restructuring as part of an ongoing exercise to make sure it had a sustainable and secure future.
A whole tier of management has been stripped out of the company’s organisational structure. It is hoped that most of the affected staff members will find other roles within the pasta and bread divisions, where there are some 60 vacancies.
