Nestlé has withdrawn LC1 Go in the UK and France after poor sales of the single shot probiotic fermented drink. The product competed in both markets with Danone’s Actimel and Yakult. The Swiss food giant pulled its LC1 probiotic supplement from the US last month.
Nestlé said last month that it planned to put greater emphasis on functional foods but the failure of segments of its main functional food brand might see a change in how the business is now marketed.
