Ferrero is launching boxed dark chocolates alongside a GBP5.5m (US$9.9m) marketing campaign in time for Christmas in the UK.
Ferrero Rondnoir is a praline and dark chocolate offering from the premium confectioner and will be launched alongside a TV and press advertising campaign including the sponsorship of the Channel Four series Desperate Housewives from late October.
Craig Barker, Ferrero UK sales director, said: “We have over the years developed Ferrero Rocher into the UK’s number one gifting boxed chocolate and are now turning our know-how to the growing dark chocolate category.
“Rondnoir has proved extremely popular in taste tests with post-trial propensity to purchase increasing by 54% and believe it will help broaden the appeal of dark chocolate.”
Ferrero Rondnoir is available in all major UK grocery retailers with an RRP of GBP1.25 (US$2.26) for four pieces, GBP3.29 for 12 pieces and GBP5.99 for 24 pieces.
