UK soft drinks and confectionery maker Cadbury Schweppes today [Friday] announced that its full-year results will be towards the lower end of its forecast range.
Poor summer weather held back sales of soft drinks in Europe, the company said in a press release. “Our European beverage business has had a more difficult summer than anticipated. This is in line with the industry as a whole where cold and wet weather in 2004 compares with record summer temperatures in 2003.”
On a brighter note, Cadbury’s confectionery divisions have remained strong, and its US beverage unit outperformed a weak market.
