The Benecol brand has undergone a relaunch in the UK, with the introduction of new packaging and three products added to the range.
McNeil Nutritionals, which holds the UK licence to Benecol, has introduced two “variety” four-pack yoghurts and a blueberry yoghurt drink to the range.
The Fruit Medley variety pack comes in black cherry, blueberry, blackberry and mango flavours. The Summer Fruits variety pack comprises red cherry, strawberry, apricot and raspberry yoghurts.
The revamp has also seen the packaging for the Benecol range redesigned packaging, which includes ingredient images, cholesterol-lowering messaging and a new ‘Plant Stanol’ icon.
Benecol UK senior brand manager Ann Darrow said: “The new Benecol yoghurts will be a key driver in growing the healthy yogurt category in the future. Two thirds of people in the UK have high cholesterol so there has never been a better time to help people lower their cholesterol. Taste has been a driving factor in the yoghurt development balancing this with communicating product efficacy.”
The yoghurts are available at all major supermarkets at an RRP of GBP2.39 for a pack of four (120g per yogurt pot). The Blueberry yoghurt drink is available at all major supermarkets RRP GBP3.79 for a pack of six (67.5g per yoghurt drink).
