Soup maker Baxters Food Group has launched a series of soups in the UK that it claims satisfy hunger for longer.

The “healthy” and “functional” Stay Full range, which went on sale yesterday (1 August), is made up of five flavours that contain “high-protein vegetables, meats and pulses”.

Baxters marketing manager Elaine Tewnion said: “We are always looking for new ways to offer our consumers something a little bit different and identified a growing trend towards functional foods that make you feel good. Our brand is already firmly placed in the category for delivering the healthiest soups but we wanted to take this one step further. This is a perfect choice for health conscious consumers who want to eat less and feel fuller for longer without compromising on taste.”

The company has secured listings at Tesco, Morrisons and Waitrose for the soups, which have an RSP of GBP1.69 (US$2.75).

The range includes soups such as Tomato, Chorizo and Mixed Bean; Spiced Butternut Squash and Edamame Bean; and Minestrone with Basil & Parmesan.
