In response to growing demand for better-for-you products, baked goods producer BakeMark UK has launched a new flapjack made with oats, fruit and sunflower seeds.
 
BakeMark UK says the new product offers “guilt-free indulgence” in a satisfying treat that offers the combined health benefits of cranberries and seeds.  The flapjacks are supplied “ready-to-bake”, and are easy to prepare, says BakeMark UK, adding that they are “ideal for high volume foodservice and retail applications”. A rather more indulgent luxury Belgian milk chocolate version is also available.
 
 “Stressful lives and long working hours have spawned a new generation of consumers looking to treat themselves,” said Vera Malhotra, head of marketing at BakeMark UK. “Our so-called ‘reward culture’ seeks indulgence but is well aware of the benefits of eating sensibly.  By offering a luxury fruit and seed-packed product that does not compromise on snack satisfaction, retailers/bakers can shrug off the ‘worthy-but-boring’ image traditionally associated with healthy products and combine indulgence with a better-for-you proposition.”
