The Association of Bakery Ingredient Manufacturers (abim) has today launched its web site – www.abim.org.uk – with the aim of improving awareness of the association and its activities. It is hoped the web site will become a useful source of information about the ingredients sector and its key players for anyone with an interest in the UK baking industry in general.
In addition to introducing the browser to the association, the abim web site incorporates a newsletter, which briefly outlines current key issues and activities, and a technical section detailing the work of the Technical Committee and its sub?committees. There is also a section containing links to other useful web sites.
One area of the web site that abim hopes will prove to be particularly useful is the “members products” area. This section not only lists which types of products are manufactured by which companies but also provides swift, direct hyperlinks to the web sites of abim member companies.
Ian MacEwan (AB Ingredients), President of abim, welcomed the launch of the association’s web site. He said, “More and more information is now available on the web, and abim aims to be proactive in using the latest technology to get its message across to those with an interest in the bakery ingredients sector. I am confident our web site has all the right ingredients to ensure it will prove to be a useful resource for our members and their customers and many other interested parties.”
